BLK XMAS is a conceptual art show that explores the stark, sometimes apocalyptic yet always timeless theme of black on black and featuring mixed media monochromatic art works. All participating artists have accepted the curator’s challenge—to create within an all-black color scheme and to not discuss their work with the other participants until it is revealed the night of the opening.
This event takes place in New York City at the Lyons Weir Project Space, Oct 10th-Oct 22nd, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily– Curated by Derrick B. Harden

The BLK XMAS theme is a spin off of August 2011 The Hole gallery pop-up exhibition, Christmas in Summer that Derrick B. Hayden also curated. The show featured artwork by Kathy Grayson(The Hole owner). BLK XMAS marks the art world release of the Dear Derrick & Laura O’ music project Christmas in Summer. The limited edition physical albums wrapped in all black & autographed by the duo will be on sale at the BLK XMAS opening and available at The Hole’s gallery gift shop at 312 Bowery therein after.
