Yes, the alcohol beverage company Bombay Sapphire. They have lots of $$$! But the competition is also in partnership with the Russell Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Art Foundation.

  1. Why do companies insist on continuing to sponsor contests in which “all entries become the property of” the contest sponsor? IMHO, this is not the way an art contest (or ANY contest requiring significant creativity and labor to develop the entries) should be run.

Thank you for making this point. I happen to know an artist who was paid many times more for a painting than she had ever received before, and paid by an alcohol company who used her painting in a full page magazine ad.
The money she made was enough for her to live and work for a full year! “All entries become the property of” needs clarification, IMO. Surely this does not mean the physical artwork, but merely the images submit for the company
to use in their online promotions. Any thoughts?

  2. I remain thankful to Bombay sapphire for the opportunity offered me to show. in the prestigious art vicinity of Rush Gallery New York. I do appreciate the love showered on my works by all who attended the opening night. Thanks to the Simmonds, the curator Mr Guichard and all the management of Rush art Gallery. I hope for more events with you in future!
