Artist’s Pets for Memorable Branding

Randall Marmet’ decided that he wanted to include his pet dog and muse “Harley” in his identity and branding. Harley holds an important place in the artist’s studio and life.




Artist Laurie J Craig Cat in Sink Studio Twitter profile features photos of the artist’s cat sleeping in the oval bathroom sink that inspired her logo.

Their pets are an important part of these artists lives.

Famed Mexican artist Frida Kahlo is also known for the dogs, birds, monkeys and pet deer that she kept in her studio home and included in her paintings.

I visited Frida Kahlo’s Blue House museum in Mexico City, which is still contains her powerful presence in the many things she loved and collected that remain in the house.

In advertising, some famous animal mascots of the past include the RCA Victor dog “Nipper” introduced circa 1905 and continued to appear on vinyl records into the 1950’s and beyond.  Morris the Cat of the 1970’s became part of people’s lives. More recently a duck and slogan made a company memorable and stand out.
