ArtandOnly A New Online Platform for Art Collectors

ArtAndOnly_Homepage_Platform_for_Collectors

Julie Engelmann of ArtandOnly, a Swiss based art collector platform, e-mailed to let us know that since their launch a few weeks ago, they are rapidly attracting collectors from all over the world who have been looking for a new platform that is on the cutting edge of today’s global art market. ArtandOnly has quickly become the première destination for both art lovers and collectors.

I asked Julie how artists are selected for the ArtandOnly site. According to Julie, the ArtandOnly curatorial team evaluates each emerging artist’s background and education, and looks into prior exhibitions and “who and how the artist has been represented so far. Of course the most important part is the work.” Julie said that their team of curators team has a certain vision and will decide about the overall impression of the work– if it is aligning with that vision.

ArtandOnly Founder Frédéric de Senarclens

ArtandOnly Founder Frédéric de Senarclens

Frédéric de Senarclens launched his new venture ArtAndOnly after seven years in Asia running one of the most successful galleries in Singapore.  Now he has taken his passion, expertise and extensive personal relationships with artists, collectors, dealers and gallerists and expanded into the global online market by developing a new and innovative online art marketplace. ArtAndOnly is a powerful and integrated sales platform that connects collectors and artists to a network of  professionals specializing in contemporary art across many disciplines.

“Once you look at the current marketplace you begin to see the limitations of a physical gallery space. By dematerializing the old brick-and-mortar model, we are able to give collectors a unique opportunity to access the global market directly” de Senarclens said.

ArtAndOnly’s timing couldn’t be more perfect. Artists have also been searching for new ways to access the market, establish direct relationships, and gain greater reach and exposure. This platform provides those connections and exclusive consignments when the other players do not.

Frédéric de Senarclens has set himself apart in another way– “We think buying and selling art online should be a full-service experience. We look forward to being a trusted partner through the entire process, with advice and a personal touch every step of the way” de Senarclens said.

“We are reshaping the art world by providing greater transparency and direct access to the market. Collectors from all over the world have immediately begun to take advantage of ArtAndOnly’s unparalleled platform” said de Senarclens.

You can get the International Art Gallery Directory E-list in our two shops–if you’d like to get a printable PDF file or Word file click here and if you’d like the iCloud share file version click here.

in this 700+ page e-list you will find more than 10,000+ art galleries across the USA and Internationally-

In this 700+ page e-list you will find over 10,000+ art galleries across the United States and around the world Internationally– listed under headings for each USA state and internationally under each country heading. Every gallery listed contains one or more clickable links to the gallery website and additional project spaces, plus such information as physical address, mailing address, email contact, and the gallery submission guidelines!

Created with the artist in mind, we include alternative exhibition space, artist-run art galleries and co-op galleries–and so that you are able to quickly identify current opportunities to submit your art–we’ve use red highlighted text to indicate galleries that have open calls for submissions, ongoing calls, rolling acceptance of artist submissions, art galleries that currently accept artist submissions, and galleries that accept artist exhibition proposals or have ongoing open submission policies.

As we continually review each gallery in this e-list, we’ve noted a new trend for more fluid art submission policies being adopted by art galleries. That is, rather than post an annual call for submissions, galleries are beginning to accept artist submissions year-round.

New galleries open all the time, and we endeavor to continually add them–as other galleries move, and expand into multiple locations we track their growth. Some galleries close temporarily and we are always happy when they do reopen, and endeavor to keep track of their status. When a gallery does close permanently, their websites often remain active and are great resources. When a gallery site does go down, we mark it Domains for sale, so that artists may purchase one or more to take advantage of established art buying traffic.

Universities have art galleries that accept exhibition proposals and you will find the details, application process and submission guidelines in this e-list.

Once you purchase this e-list, you will continue to receive the revised and updated versions, sent to you via email, periodically.

Completely and 100% reviewed, revised, expanded and updated November & December 2016, with regular ongoing monthly reviews and updating as needed.

Art Marketing Site Promotes Artists and Art Galleries in Unique Ways

Art Marketing Site Promotes Artists and Art Galleries in Unique Ways by Dean Cameron

Having had a 30 year career in Marketing and owning an Online Art Gallery and Publishing business since 2002, it is obvious that “times are a changing”. While there is nothing inherently wrong with traditional methods such as Gallery Representation, Art Shows and such, they are rendered somewhat incomplete with today’s super connected world that we live in. Social Media Networking is paramount to the vast majority of up and coming artists and that is not just Facebook. Twitter, Pinterest, Google +, Stumble Upon, LinkedIn and now YouTube offer unique opportunities and diverse clientele to develop an artist’s brand and to stay connected to interested potential clients. So is Social Media the answer to a successful art career? I would say this. As Social Media came on like a storm so will the next best vehicle (we don’t know what it will be yet because some 12-year-old is inventing it in their mind right now) so we need to be as current as we can be.

One thing I have learned in 30 years of Marketing is that opportunities come from many directions. So our Marketing Plan should take advantage of that and cast a wide net. An Artist needs to have a complete tool box in which to develop their market and build their art creating business. We have developed that Tool Box. www.flootie.com creates a menu of items an artist can choose from in order to best suit their plans. Most “Art for Sale” Internet Sites are what we call “Post it and Forget it” type sites. You post your book of work online and hope that someone comes along and makes a purchase. www.flootie.com is not that type of Internet Marketing Site. We offer the following features for artists to be proactive in their efforts to sell their works and create their brand.

  • Flootie offers a free listing in our International Artists Directory (see Registration link for Artists and follow prompts).
  • Flootie offers a free listing in our International Art Gallery Directory. Our site works well for Artists and their Gallery partners to work together to market an artist’s brand (see Registration link for Artists and follow prompts).
  • Flootie offers very affordable subscription levels and does not charge upload fees or commissions on sales.
  • Flootie offers one on one support to answer marketing questions
  • Flootie offers all major Social Media links for sharing directly from your art listing. You can share to your network and anyone else can share your works with their networks in an easy efficient method.
  • Flootie offers a direct email invitation tool to share your activity on Flootie.
  • Flootie offers a method to automatically share your latest posts with any fan who selects you as a favorite artist in a “once per week” email notification.
  • Flootie offers an option to embed your Google Calendar to your page to keep people informed of your shows and exhibitions.
  • Flootie offers an option to include a video on your page to bring life to your relationships with potential clients.
  • Flootie charges no commissions for sales so you can drive potential clients to your website, or any other location you wish to generate traffic to. We are not competition. We are your marketing supercharger.
  • Flootie offers a blog for subscriber artists to post their latest stories, reflections and insights.
  • Flootie owns and operates our own TV Studio and produces Flootie TV now being shown in 7 states on 8 Public TV Stations with that number growing fast. Flootie TV incorporates a “general public” approach to the arts with some comedic shorts as well as serious artist interviews. Think of it as “The Tonight Show” for the arts.
  • Flootie is a socially conscious company and has an ongoing program called “Artists Forever” that awards art supplies grants to grade school art classes to empower teachers to supplement their meager art budgets in the school systems and develop the next generation of creatives.

This is by no means the end of this list. Flootie is well underway with even more creative tools for artists to connect with art lovers. Our mission is to make the term “Starving Artist” obsolete. We would look forward to seeing you as a fan, an artist or an art related business. We are a grass-roots and privately owned entity with the sole intention to bring the artists and art lovers together in an intentional way.

USA, Canada, Asia: Art Dealer Renowned For Print Editions

Patrick Painter is an American art dealer who in 1991 began Patrick Painter Editions in Vancouver, Canada and Hong Kong. He is also the owner of Patrick Painter Inc., which he opened in 1997, that includes two art galleries in Santa Monica, California.

Last month, Patrick Painter launched his Facebook fan page as a Public Personality–find it here.

Early in his career, Patrick Painter was mentored by famed art dealer Leo Castelli and curator Walter Hopps.  According to Wikipedia,…” Patrick Painter Editions was established in a depressed market, [yet] he managed to build his business upon the success he had turning editions. Fine art prints, or multiple editions, were looked down upon at the time by many critics and collectors; Painter created a unique approach to the market. In 1996, 20 galleries worldwide had shows of exclusively Patrick Painter Editions.

Update: the Worlds First Art Mall

Screen Shot 2015-01-21 at 8.45.02 AM

On November 25th 2012, I published news of the K11 Art Space, the Worlds First Art Mall, which is located in the Tsim Sha Tsui district of the city of Hong Kong.

The K11 Art Space Art Mall has grown considerably since I first wrote about it here! Like many visitors to Hong Kong, I quickly found myself in the Tsim Sha Tsui district shortly after arrival, on direct route from the airport, in search of an affordable room and the best places to shop. The Tsim Sha Tsui district has a lovely night view of the waterfront and city skyline, a public fine arts library, and a new fine arts museum under construction.

  • K11 Art Space now publishes the free Artoid art magazine.
  • K11 Art Space is showcasing the Photography Exhibition – Scenes of the City, on view from the 6th of January to the 3rd of February 2015. Photographs by expatriate Hong Kong resident from The Philippines, Xyza Cruz Bacani. Her work has been featured in The New York Times and Vogue.

K11 Art Space Art Mall exhibits, promotes and sells local artists and artists based internationally in live exhibitions, online, and in their K11 Design Store. K11 Design Store features budding and exceptional designers from all over the world every season. In the past they have feature design works by an American living as an expatriate in Thailand and other artist-designers living in France and Italy.

Wellspring of Life the story and inspiration, by Randy Marmet’–
“We float over a sea of tumultuous energy, right through a barrier of fluid dynamics into a dimension of transcendence where creativity is born in synaptic interaction.  If you could peer into the depths of the creative process, this is where you would find a pulsating liquid nuclei that refuses to be subdued into shape or form and is similar to where life began.  My inspiration came from a deep water dive off the coast of Florida where tropical life was teeming in and around a barrier reef with such energy that it made me feel like I had discovered the secret to the source of life itself.  This sacred place spoke to me in a whisper as I was sworn to secrecy because of it’s fragility.  I cannot return to that place, but I can show you how it felt.”

Fine Art Gallery Represents the Paintings of Emerging Artists at Affordable Prices

blogGIFA_Logo_aug2012-sml

The Gregg Irby Fine Art gallery represents emerging artists at affordable prices in the niche market they’ve built. Gallery curators scour the country for new talents to bring their clients one-of-a-kind paintings by artists who have yet to be widely discovered. They strive to have a variety of painting styles in their gallery.

Both aspiring and established art collectors in Atlanta, Georgia can see the available artworks in person in the Gregg Irby gallery.  Plus, their connection to the up-and-coming art community allows Gregg Irby curators to source stunning paintings from artists for collectors shopping in their online gallery shop.

If you are an artist, take a look at the art on the gallery site. If your paintings complement what you see on the site and you think that you work in a good fit and in line with their price points–you can email 5-7 images to the gallery. Read the full submission guidelines on the gallery site.

Artist Marketing Resources continually adds more and more galleries to our e-list of 5,000 international art galleries. We’ve been working on the e-list over the past several years. Gain access to the international art gallery e-list here.

Randall Marmet’ Space Painting “The Outpost” in Images and Video

blogMarmet-Outpost1

Artist Randall Marmet’ lists among his painting inspirations, the NASA space program and a tour he took as a child of Cape Canaveral (aka Kennedy Space Center) to view the 363 feet tall Saturn 5 rockets. As well as celestial inspirations, such as his first viewing of the Southern Cross in Key West Florida from a boat on night waters. And again, seeing the Southern Cross constellation years later, on a trip to Tahiti in the South Pacific– where it is much more clearly visible in the night sky from the secluded atolls of Polynesia.

Russell Marmet’ wrote of his painting titled The Outpost

“While I was painting this, I imagined a colony of humans on another planet far from this place that sends someone here to what they refer to as ‘The Outpost’, a vantage point on the perimeter of the colony’s space domain. There is always an abundance of volunteers that want to visit The Outpost because of the view of the moon and nebulae where new space creations emerge. The beauty and serenity of The Outpost is spellbinding. Let your mind wander to visit this special place and restate tranquility in your mind that you didn’t know could be attained.”

blogMarmet-Outpost2

Specifics:
The painting consists of three canvases with a total dimension of 24 x 60 inches ( 1 canvas 24 x 36 x  1 3/8 inches deep, and 2  canvases 12  x 24 x 1 3/8 inches deep), all three hand-stretched gallery quality canvas.  This is an original acrylic fine art painting, hand-painted and clear coated with archival fine art varnish for protection against dust and abrasion.  The painting extends around the edges providing a very elegant look with no need for framing. Ready to hang and enjoy!  Created in 2014. To acquire this painting click here.
Suggestion:
Note: This painting is best viewed with lighting because of the dark field background.  Track lighting is the most flexible way to light art. Daylight bulbs are best.  Also, the clear coated matte finish archival fine art varnish enhances the depth of color and reduces glare.

Open Call For Artists: Bank Space Gallery Opportunity, London

Screen Shot 2014-12-09 at 4.47.50 PM

A London-based group of five young curators studying MA Curating at the Contemporary at London Metropolitan University in partnership with the Whitechapel Gallery are inviting artists to submit works for an exhibition to take place on the 13th – 27th March 2015 at The Bank Space Gallery in London. The show will mainly focus on the idea of “screen” and how it influences our everyday experience of and approach to the world.Since the screen became portable, this unavoidable tool mediates almost every interaction with external reality.  Within a world of flat images, we handle and caress screens rather than touch objects, we text instead of talk and we browse instead of ask.

Open to all artists working with any media, this exhibition intends to explore our relationship with the “screen” and the impact it has on our everyday life. You are invited to investigate this “black mirror” as a contemporary, challenging and engaging concept and to go beyond the surface.

The deadline for submissions is Sunday 11th January 2015 at 12pm. Interested artists should submit the following to bankspacemet2015@gmail.com with the subject line BANKSPACE EXHIBITION,with: A copy of your artist CV; A link to your website or online portfolio; A brief statement about your work; Up to 4 images of your work (PDF or JPEG of reasonable size).
