ArtandOnly A New Online Platform for Art Collectors

ArtAndOnly_Homepage_Platform_for_Collectors

Julie Engelmann of ArtandOnly, a Swiss based art collector platform, e-mailed to let us know that since their launch a few weeks ago, they are rapidly attracting collectors from all over the world who have been looking for a new platform that is on the cutting edge of today’s global art market. ArtandOnly has quickly become the première destination for both art lovers and collectors.

I asked Julie how artists are selected for the ArtandOnly site. According to Julie, the ArtandOnly curatorial team evaluates each emerging artist’s background and education, and looks into prior exhibitions and “who and how the artist has been represented so far. Of course the most important part is the work.” Julie said that their team of curators team has a certain vision and will decide about the overall impression of the work– if it is aligning with that vision.

ArtandOnly Founder Frédéric de Senarclens

ArtandOnly Founder Frédéric de Senarclens

Frédéric de Senarclens launched his new venture ArtAndOnly after seven years in Asia running one of the most successful galleries in Singapore.  Now he has taken his passion, expertise and extensive personal relationships with artists, collectors, dealers and gallerists and expanded into the global online market by developing a new and innovative online art marketplace. ArtAndOnly is a powerful and integrated sales platform that connects collectors and artists to a network of  professionals specializing in contemporary art across many disciplines.

“Once you look at the current marketplace you begin to see the limitations of a physical gallery space. By dematerializing the old brick-and-mortar model, we are able to give collectors a unique opportunity to access the global market directly” de Senarclens said.

ArtAndOnly’s timing couldn’t be more perfect. Artists have also been searching for new ways to access the market, establish direct relationships, and gain greater reach and exposure. This platform provides those connections and exclusive consignments when the other players do not.

Frédéric de Senarclens has set himself apart in another way– “We think buying and selling art online should be a full-service experience. We look forward to being a trusted partner through the entire process, with advice and a personal touch every step of the way” de Senarclens said.

Group Pinterest Boards: Art Direct From Artists, Abstract Art Direct From Artists, Art Realism

Screen Shot 2015-02-04 at 9.35.35 AM

Featured group board image by Jose A. Kuesta

Last September, I set up the group Pinterest board Art Direct From Artists, a collection of artworks available for purchase directly from each artist represented on the board. What’s unique about this group board is that I am inviting artists to pin their art with retail price tags on each image.

That board was so popular that I also created the group boards Abstract Art Direct From Artists and  Art Direct From Artists-Realism to help categorize the available art.

Recently, I received feedback from one of the artist who has his artwork images pinned to the group boards, Leon Sarantos who wrote:

“Hi Marie, I’m very pleased to be able to pin on 2 of your 3 boards, Art Direct From Artists, and Abstract Art Direct From Artists. I would also appreciate being on your boards titled, Art Direct From Artists – Realism. I’m especially interested because Pinterest analytics indicates that I’ve gotten more click-throughs from your boards than from others. Nice going! Regards, Leon”

I appreciate Leon’s taking the time to let me know what my groups are doing for him, and I would love to receive feedback from the more than 100 artists pinning their available art images to my 3 group boards.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the artworks on this Pinterest board, you may contact the artist by sending them a message on Pinterest, or by clicking on the image to visit their website. If you have any problems, please email: mariekazalia@gmail.com

Follow me on Pinterest so that I can invite you to the appropriate group board. To follow Marie Kazalia on Pinterest click here.

Found on the Web: Save Your Stuff blog, Art Barter and Alteria Art Print Editions

We’ve found some interesting art sites on the web this week.

The latest articles on the Save Your Stuff blog caught our interest. The first, on how to protect your oil paintings from rips and tears  gave honest accounts of how such damage can occur and offered useful ways to prevent against damage. And a Second article on how to deal with pests that can damage your art is also recommended reading.

On Twitter this week, we encountered news from the co-founders of the not-for-profit Art Barter site , as they are embarking on a new commercial venture: Alteria Art.

Alteria Art wishes to work closely with associated artists, commissions artists to produce handmade high quality limited edition prints, and offers the prints at affordable prices on their site to help support Art Barter projects.

On Art Barter, artists upload and list their artworks anonymously and the members of the public offer goods and services in exchange for the artworks. Art Barters artists have exchanged their works for such things as, 6 months of Italian lessons, 3 months of psychotherapy, 30 hours of reflexology, website design, a gallop on a white horse, gardening lessons, a poem for each month of a year and other creative offers ranging from a woman offering to bear the artist’s child to one promising a lifetime supply of cheese.

THROW OFF THE BOWLINES, SAIL AWAY FROM THE SAFE HARBOR,EXPLORE, DREAM DISCOVER…(M.Twain quote) art by Paul Rooms

Watercolors are the medium of New York artist Paul Rooms. He uses his skillful painting techniques to visually explore the human soul, meaning in metaphor, and his inner child. His subject matter and style are influenced by the painting traditions of his ancestral countries. “From the Flemish comes my surrealistic eye and to Italian art I owe color and construction”, says Paul, who was raised and educated in Italy.  He professed his ardent love for certain ancient and modern masters–from Vermeer to Magritte, from Bosch to Steinberg–as he worked over the years to develop his own personal style of painting. Paul Rooms has had several solo exhibitions and his artwork is in many private collections world-wide.

Paul Room’s website contains an online shop of very reasonably priced artworks, at: http://www.paulrooms.com
