Group Pinterest Boards: Art Direct From Artists, Abstract Art Direct From Artists, Art Realism
Featured group board image by Jose A. Kuesta
Last September, I set up the group Pinterest board Art Direct From Artists, a collection of artworks available for purchase directly from each artist represented on the board. What’s unique about this group board is that I am inviting artists to pin their art with retail price tags on each image.
That board was so popular that I also created the group boards Abstract Art Direct From Artists and Art Direct From Artists-Realism to help categorize the available art.
Recently, I received feedback from one of the artist who has his artwork images pinned to the group boards, Leon Sarantos who wrote:
“Hi Marie, I’m very pleased to be able to pin on 2 of your 3 boards, Art Direct From Artists, and Abstract Art Direct From Artists. I would also appreciate being on your boards titled, Art Direct From Artists – Realism. I’m especially interested because Pinterest analytics indicates that I’ve gotten more click-throughs from your boards than from others. Nice going! Regards, Leon”
I appreciate Leon’s taking the time to let me know what my groups are doing for him, and I would love to receive feedback from the more than 100 artists pinning their available art images to my 3 group boards.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the artworks on this Pinterest board, you may contact the artist by sending them a message on Pinterest, or by clicking on the image to visit their website. If you have any problems, please email: mariekazalia@gmail.com
Follow me on Pinterest so that I can invite you to the appropriate group board. To follow Marie Kazalia on Pinterest click here.

Artist E-Postcard Marketing In September
Each year beginning in September, art galleries re-open and renew their activities after the summer months (June-July-August) when many galleries are closed or operating with reduced staff.
This summer, Artist Marketing Resources started sending-out e-postcards of artists work to select art galleries. Now we are gearing up to send out many more e-postcards in September.
Participating artists include: Karen Fitzgerald, Arthur Kvarnstrom, Jane Dell, dianne k. webb, Michael Krasowitz, Barbara Rachko, Irena Orlov, Alice Harrison, May Jones, Numbers Project, Michelle Benoit, and, Elinore Schnurr.
Plus, we are sharing artist e-postcards on Pinterest and tweeting individual e-postcards using hashtags such as #artcollectors and #buyartonline among others. We’ll be tweeting primarily from our @TransArtGuide and @Artozon Twitter accounts.

Artists: 3 tips for landing press, and artist Karen Fitzgerald’s Video Interview Advice
An article on 3 tips for landing press for your business has circulated on the web this week. As a blogger, I like the first tip in the article:
1. Start small and targeted. Connect with the bloggers that cover your industry and build a rapport with them. You’ll get on their radar, and if they choose to write about you, their story could get picked up by a major publication, leading to even more coverage.
Yes, as an arts blogger, I often feature active artists who support my Artist Marketing Resources blog promotional projects. Find out other ways to get featured on this blog and discover other art blogs and art magazines on my 57 page e-list of publications for artists.
Getting press coverage, on a blog, in a digital magazine or print magazine, or in a video interview, means that you will be seen by a new audience and reach a new market. You can also excerpt your feature article from the publication and share it on your blog and on social media. If you are interviewed on camera, you can post your video interview on your blog, on your YouTube channel and share on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook etc.
Artist Karen Fitzgerald is one professional artist who knows how to get press coverage. Watch Karen as she energetically talks about her work in the video interview below. Karen says, “It happened at an art fair I was participating in Manhattan, New York City in the Fall of 2013. It was a very “happenstance” moment. These 2 gentlemen were roving around interviewing people and asked me if I’d like to be part of an interview. I said yes! They were sweet and funny and so easy to work with. They were enthusiastic and made me feel very comfortable.”
Artist and expert fine art gilder Karen Fitzgerald is hosting a day-long gilding workshop on September 9, in Long Island City, Western Queens, New York City. Find out more here: http://fitzgeraldart.com/gilding-workshop/
During my communications with Karen about her video, she didn’t miss a beat, but immediately sent me details on her gilding workshop, asking if I could post about her workshop along with the video.
Follow Karen’s lead. Connect with art bloggers and share your artist news with them. Have all the details in place– press release style or as an announcement–include images and links. If a blogger has an opening, you could get featured on an art blog. (Find more art blogs on this 57 page e-list of publications with artists. Read their submission guidelines and submit your artist news.)
