Labor Day USA National Holiday

Labor Day in the United States of America

Labor Day is an annual holiday from work and is held on the first Monday of September. The entire Labor Day 3-day weekend is traditionally about rest, backyard barbeques, picnics and outdoor vacation time that marks the end of summer.

The first Labor Day in 1882 was about labor unions. Labor Day became a US federal holiday 1894. On Labor Day all Government offices, schools and organizations and many businesses are closed. But, of course, airports and many businesses are open too, and usually workers who do work on the Labor Day holiday earn extra pay.

Artist Marketing Resources is off for Labor Day and will return tomorrow.
