blogGreatWallOakland

The Great Wall of Oakland is accepting submissions through January 31, 2015 for their Fall 2015 season. Submit proposals, specific work, and projects of digital art, moving image, video, and new media work to be screened on their 100×100 foot urban projection space in Downtown Oakland, California. They’re particularly interested in site-specific installations that engage with the physical space of the projection and the building’s location in the public streets of Oakland.

Submit your work through the online submission form by January 31st 2015. You will receive notification of acceptance by February 15, 2015 for a Fall 2015 screening.

SUPERCUT – Accepting Submissions Through Jan 31st! The great Wall of Oakland seeks works that fit within, comment upon, or somehow relate to the video genre known as the “Supercut.” They seek work that employs compilation, montage, and short cuts to isolate elements and create a kind of ‘video concrète’. They’re especially interested in works that take a more artistic, conceptual, or critical approach and are not simply fan-created compilations of popular TV shows. Work will be displayed during The Wall’s March First Friday installation which is seen by thousands during Oakland’s Art Murmur event. Curated by Timothy Furstnau (FICTILIS) & Christina Yglesias.

Deadline: Saturday January 31, 2015. Artists notified February 15, 2015 for screening on March 6, 2015.
