 FEEDBACK FROM ARTISTS:

It’s great getting unsolicited feedback about our resources and services, such as in a tweet that we received from artist Joyce Dade regarding the $39.95 price of our International Art Galleries Directory. Joyce tweeted to us @TransArtGuide “A very decent price for such an art directory.  Paid $100 years ago for Italian version. I forget the name of publisher.”

Artist Alexis Avlamis, an artist curated into the Drawing Center New York City and featured on the Art21 interview blog wrote to us, in part:

“About two months ago, I stumbled upon your websıte and bought both the Transmedıa Artıst Guıde to Makıng Artıst Submıssıons and the Internatıonal Art Gallery Dırectory Share Lıst. I found them very professıonal, well wrıtten, ınformatıve and eye openıng, especıally when ıt comes to untanglıng the mysterıes and meshes of the art world.”

This week an artist in Europe wrote in an email:

“Hi Marie, I just wanted to say thanks for doing a good job…” an except from an email we received after our submission got this artist a much-needed magazine feature, a requirement to obtain an artist via to the USA. We are also assisting this artist in completing the USA Artist Visa application.

Plus, last week we received a thank-you gift of an original art piece in the mail from an artist we work with!

Artist Marketing Resources would like to thank all the artists who sent such positive feedback. We’d like to make this a regular monthly feature on our blog. So if you talk about us online, please let us know, and you could get mentioned along with an image and link to your site.

Artists, We Will Tweet Your Link + Artist News to Our Thousands of Twitter Followers

Here’s some advance publications news. The author of a forthcoming magazine article on how artists use Twitter, informed me that she has quoted me heavily in her article. The magazine editor requested two jpeg images of my art for the publication (space permitting). I haven’t read the article yet, but it will appear in the September marketing issue — in both print and digital editions– of Professional Artists magazine.

Before the article comes out, it would be nice to get even more Twitter followers on my Twitter account @Artozon which currently has 9,984 followers. I only need 16 more followers to roll my number of followers over to 10,000.  Artists, follow @Artozon on Twitter, tweet the link to your website and add the hashtag #artistnews or #artistmarket to get your tweet RT’d (re-tweeted) across all of my Twitter accounts!  (I set up @Artozon Twitter account August 2011, so it’s also a 3 year anniversary this month.)

My Twitter Account @TransArtGuide has 7,948 followers. I’d like to get that number up to 8,000.  Artists, follow @TransArtGuide on Twitter, tweet your link with the hashtag #artistnews or #artistmarket and I will RT (re-tweet)!

Please also follow my Twitter account @Transmediartist with 7,684 followers –I want to increase that number too.

Artists: How to Get Your Art Re-tweeted

As odd as that headline may sound, if you use twitter you understand that opening a Twitter account and tweeting the link to your site probably isn’t enough.

To make your tweets stand out, add an image of your art to your tweet. This is easy to do using TweetDeck.  TweetDeck started as an independent platform but was purchased by Twitter around 2013. Twitter has since expanded TweetDeck calling it “the most powerful Twitter tool for real-time tracking, organizing, and engagement.”

Now that you’ve written your tweet, added your link and image, include a hashtag to get your tweet in a thread. Try using these hashtags: #art #artforsale #buyartonline #artmarket #paintings #oilpaintingsforsale #prints #drawing #installation #photography #artcollectors #sellartonline #collage #mixedmedia #Giclee and others. Use the Twitter search box to find others. Use hashtags such as #RT and #shoutouts to put your art tweet into non-art categories– which may help you reach new buyers.

To get your tweets retweeted to thousands, simply use the hashtags #artistmarket and #artistnews in your tweet– Artist Marketing Resources retweets your tweets from those hashtag threads.

The organization Artifizz tweets as @artifizzorg using a lot of hashtags in their tweets.  You can find many more art news organizations and publications here.

Artist Marketing Resources retweets our reader’s tweets from the hashtag threads #artistnews and #artistmarket. Add one or both hashtags #artistnews and/or #artistmarket to your tweet. Your tweet will appear in our thread and  we will retweet. It’s that easy.

For artists who have an Etsy Shop, EtsyRetwt @EtsyRetwt makes these offers– “Want a shoutout? Just retweet my last tweet and I’ll personally promote your @Etsy shop- it’s that easy! Use the hashtag #etsyretwt to get more views on your tweets! I re-tweet a lot so if you’re following me, I’ll follow you!”

If you have fewer than 1,000 followers for your Twitter account, you can use services such as WeFollow to find and build followers.

Artist Marketing Resources follows and re-tweets. Follow us on Twitter @TransArtGuide @Artozon @Transmediartist  Use the hashtags #ArtistMarket and #artistnews to get your tweets re-tweeted. And don’t forget to share by re-tweeting our tweets too!
