Call for Artist Submissions for Solo Exhibition at WW Gallery

THE DEADLINE: midnight on 20th June 2013
THE AWARD: a solo exhibition at WW Gallery in January 2014, £1000 prize money, a group show in August 2013, 3 months mentoring.

Artists, WW invites you to submit your work for consideration for their 2013 SOLO award. There is a simple online application to complete. The selection process involves looking at just the work itself, (no names or CVs are seen by the judges). Below is more information on what it’s all about, who the judges are, as well as feedback from the artists and judges who made last year’s award so successful. Now in its second year, the WW SOLO Award is a structured opportunity created to provide support and development for contemporary artists working in any medium and at all stages of their career. Unlike other contemporary art awards, the SOLO Award is inclusive, with a focus that stretches further than new graduates, believing that artists can be ’emerging’ at any age.

This year the winner will be selected by a distinguished panel of judges, including Alison Wilding (Turner Prize-nominated sculptor and Royal Academician), Charlotte Mullins (art historian, writer, broadcaster and editor for Art Quarterly), Ceri Hand (Director of Ceri Hand Gallery), and Gill Saunders (Senior Curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum). The winner of the SOLO Award will receive prize money of £1000 and a solo exhibition at the gallery in January 2014. Longlisted artists will be exhibited in a group exhibition this coming August 2013.

WW is one of London’s leading contemporary artist-run spaces with a reputation for consistently forward-thinking and innovative projects. FUTURGARDE AWARD is a newly created prize for support and promotion of most interesting and promising living artists from all around the world. 
Deadline: May 30th 2013
Application fee: US $20

FUTURGARDE AWARD is looking for innovative and exceptional works of art showing unique creative practices, ideas and personalities.

FUTURGARDE is looking for art which can influence and change viewer’s way of thinking and perception.

There are no restrictions of media, style, age or location. All styles are eligible.

* An international group of 20 creative professionals (art critics, curators, collectors and established artists) will evaluate the proposals considering their conceptual and visual quality and artistic maturity

PRIZE

– US$ 60,000 for grant awards to split proportionally between 3 winners. That means US$ 30,000 for first place, 20,000 for second and 10,000 for third.
– Acquisition of selected works by winning artists and possibly two other not awarded artists, who submitted their applications
– Solo exhibitions for each winner in New York, London and Berlin in one of our collaborating art spaces in 2014
