1708 Gallery Seeks Exhibition Proposals for New Art

1708 Gallery, a non-profit exhibition space in Richmond, Virginia, USA, that has been in existence for thirty-four years, is seeking exhibition proposals for their 2013-2014 season.

National and international artists working in all mediums (including, but not limited to: video and film, new media, installation, painting, social practices, sculpture and performance),

as well as curators are encouraged to submit exhibition proposals.

1708 Gallery is committed to providing opportunities for artistic innovation for emerging and established artists and to expanding the understanding and appreciation of new art for the public.

Submissions will be reviewed by 1708 Gallery’s Exhibition Committee, which includes professional artists from its Board of Directors. Selected artists or curators will receive an exhibition approximately 6 weeks long at 1708 Gallery and a $300 honorarium. Pending funding, this amount may increase.

The deadline for submissions is September 15, 2012.

Options 2011 Call for Artist Entries

Washington Project for the Arts (WPA) is a non‐profit organization that has been in existence since 1975.

Their 15th biennial exhibition of emerging and unrepresented artists is titled  OPTIONS 2011. The WPA Call For Entries is for work in all media, including installation, performance and new media, from
artists from the Mid‐Atlantic region of the USA–including Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Monday, June 20, 2011 at midnight   EXHIBITION DATES: September 15 – October 29, 2011

LOCATION: Downtown DC    PerksA catalogue will be produced to accompany the exhibition. Participating artists will receive a $300 stipend.
